No Pics Yet But, It Is Fast

It's ugly, the wires are not well stowed yet but, it's fast & I am well pleased.

It hit about 30mph on the initial test ride.

I rode it a couple miles & the battery meter didn't move even though I was using max assist.

I am very pleased with the feel of the front wheel motor, it doesn't have that jerky over powered sports car feel you get from a rear wheel motor.

I began working on this project 15 months ago & I don't feel like it was time wasted. It took nearly a year to get the batteries here from Germany, damn hazmat shipping/customs.

I don't have regenerative braking, I'll try that on the next build out because when I go on my tour I'll be wanting it.

Did I mention it's fast? In VA you can go as fast as you want up to the posted speed limit as long as you are peddaling. It's only a 500watt motor so it's legal in Canada & the controller is programmable so I can conform it to the laws in whichever state or nation I happen to be in.

Tomorrow I will do the 1st "on the road" tests & see if I can't hit 35mph & maybe even 40. For those who care while I don't normally wear a helmet, for these tests I certainly will be. Probably aught to update my will too... lol.

I hope it is all ou hoped for it. I have given up on my bike project. My hearing is too bad now. I do not hear cars coming up behind me. and I’ll nevef get used to the small rearview mirrors made for bikes. I’f I’m to be mobile and be safe. it will be a four wheeled vehicle fully licensed.

I feel you on that, it’s a shame though.
I’m taking my 1st commute on it today, I hope to put down about 40 mile & will definitely get 20.
BTW they still make the “big” mirrors for bikes.

I don’t know what the road & path situation is there so I won’t recommend you think about it again but, If you want to share other concerns I may be able to help you find a way over or around them.

There’s a law for that? Seriously, do politicians have nothing better to do than write additional laws which never sunset or get reviewed?

I suppose MO has something similar. My bike is of the mountain type. Due to offroading’s wear and tear, and my not liking to mechanic, I quit taking it offroad shortly after I bought it. It seemed the gearing wasn’t for road riding, it could have used additional high gears. On several hills, I used to pass cars, I peddeled initially to quickly achieve speed, but it is likely my top speed was due to gravity.

No there’s not a law for it, there’s a law for eBikes limiting them to 20 mph if you’re not pedaling.
